Management of the College

The college is managed by the Sree Sankara Trust, formed in 1965. The founders of the trust headed by Sri. P. N. Namboothiri were all social workers at grass root level and keen to select the less privileged and educationally backward rural areas to launch their institutions, for promoting higher education in accordance with the ideals propagated by the great saint Adi Sankara. The trust is owned and managed by Namboothiri community, the traditional Brahmins of Kerala, known as Keraladwijas in Sanskrit. The rich Brahmin tradition of learning and education inspired the founders in the creation of a trust to promote higher education in the name of Adi Sankara, the great visionary and exponent of Adwaitha Sidhantha.

In addition to Sree Sankara college, Kilimanoor, the trust also manages three other colleges located in isolated rural areas of Kerala: SSV College, Valayanchirangara, V. T. B College at Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad and SSV College (Self- finance), Nagaroor, Thiruvananthapuram. The trust also manages SSV English Medium School at Nagaroor. In addition, the trust owns three temples: Raloorkavu Devi temple, Thekkinkadu Siva and Vishnu temple, Nagaroor.

The trust is divided into three zones: North Zone, Central Zone, South Zone. The headquarters of the trust is at Perumbavoor.
